Life Update

Well, I’m finally done moving, so that’s news.  The new place is about a block east of where I was before, but it’s a lot bigger, has a dishwasher, has a giant bathroom and is cooler (in temperature) than the old place.  It’s also about two-thirds as expensive as my house was.  The one bummer is that there is not a good place to cook out, so there go my summers of constant barbecues.

In other news, Lake Folk has its very first show this Saturday!  We’re playing at a local cafe in Plymouth, MI.  I’m really stoked for the show, and I think we’re gonna rock some socks.  We’ve been doing set run-throughs practically every night and we’re playing really tight now.  We’ve also got a little show coming up on September 12 at the Homegrown Festival in Ann Arbor.  I’d say we’re a few months away from being really rich and famous.

My Verizon contract is up in November, and I’m pretty sure I’m going to get an iPhone.  My advisor, who used to be addicted to his Blackberry, just got one and can’t stop raving about it.  On the other hand, Brian and others complain about AT&T service and point out that MMS and tethering don’t seem to work like Apple intended them to.  So, I’m still considering Sprint for the Palm Pre, or some sort of Android phone.  I think leaving Verizon is going to be inevitable though, because they don’t offer any quality smart phones and their data plans are the most expensive in the industry.  Anyone heard any Verizon + iPhone rumors?
